Provides construction site engineering resources and expertise during construction phases of projects to interpret designs adjusts designs to meet site conditions manages technical issues performs quality inspections monitors technical submittals and configuration management verifies installed quantities supports construction supervision and provides final technical approval of completed construction tasks to ensure construction conforms to design specifications.
Provides support to Construction direct-hire craft by performing Mechanical/Piping Field Engineering responsibilities supporting construction projects or technical oversight for subcontracts. Provides technical/programmatic guidance on multiple and complex construction management tasks. Makes decisions regarding methods independently and working with the Construction Managers applies financial commitment authority for field changes.
Completes assigned tasks under minimal supervision and technical direction. Reviews and interprets drawings and specifications to determine if information is adequate for successful completion of construction. Oversees construction work for compliance with drawings and specifications. Performs constructability reviews during design preparation and execution. Maintains direct relationship with the Construction Managers/Construction Superintendents and the responsible Project Managers (PM) to execute the scope of work. Provides technical support in all phases of construction formation project execution testing/inspection and project closeout. Maintains records of installed quantities and completed construction work. Participates in obtaining any required permits/clearances lockouts Escort Agreements and work authorizations prior to commencing work on site. Performs verification of work in progress to ensure requirements of safety security quality (technical drawings and specifications) environmental control workmanship and schedule are met. Assists in the preparation of procedures administrative and technical documents. Prepares/approves purchase requisitions for materials and services.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
