Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Plans coordinates and directs medical treatment and care services for assigned institutions.
- Provides medical consultation for the long-range planning of additional health facilities and programs.
- Supervises the professional medical activities of assigned institutions assuring adherence to policies pertaining to the delivery of medical services.
- Supervises preparation of progress notes summaries and general evaluations of patient medical records.
- Establishes treatment procedures and guidelines for medical care services at assigned institutions.
- Performs professional medical duties requiring the coordination of departmental health resources with those available in the community.
- Provides medical treatment services for inmate patients.
- Determines and prescribes medication.
- Develops and implements programs as needed to ensure SCDC medical services are in-compliance with all required health care laws.
- Consults with other physicians.
- Must participate in meetings.
Resume preferred but not required.Minimum and Additional Requirements
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an approved school of medicine completion of internship. Licensed or eligibility for license to practice medicine in the state of South Carolina.
Must have Basic Life Support Certification.Additional Comments
