Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education Counseling Psychology Sociology Public Administration Communications Social Work or related fields from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two or more years of relevant experience as a student leader or professional in areas such as college access outreach advocacy student mentoring or academic retention programming
Experience as a student or professional with facilitating co-curricular programming and educational experiences for audiences of 7th-12thgrade students and/or supporters and educators
An expressedunderstanding of educational access within the context of secondary and higher education
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual or Multilingual (English Spanish Marshallese preferred)
Masters coursework or degree in Education Higher Education Counseling Communications Community development or a related field
Experience developing programs
Academic outreach experience and a demonstrated drive to improve the college access and completion
At least one or more years of professional experience in facilitating college access and academic support programs designed to assist a broad and diverse student population
Experience with college recruiting and/or outreach
Extensive academic presentation and program facilitation experience
Extensive direct personal and/or professional experience serving communities of students and families
Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of the challenges faced by students from various socioeconomic backgrounds including first-generation college students and those from low-income communities in accessing and completing higher education
Knowledge of college planning and admissions processes
Knowledge of the ACT and ability to help students prepare for it and other college entrance exams and processes
Strong analytical organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to give presentations comfortably and confidently to students parents educators and higher education colleagues
Ability to create environments that foster participation of all groups to best meet needs related to educational access
Ability to develop college readiness curricula and workshops
Ability to teach college readiness skills and facilitate related activities in-person and virtually as needed
Ability to build rapport with high school and college students school and community partners and campus colleagues
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and gain support from a broad array of constituents including students staff faculty alumni parents community members and visitors.
Ability to travel to various events and activities as well as work some evenings and weekends based on programming needs
Ability to help students and families navigate them
