As a Sustainability Co-op you will join the Corporate Sustainability Reporting and Disclosures team reporting to the Manager of Sustainability Data and Processes. You will support the data collection process for Sun Lifes annual Sustainability Reporting Suite by assisting in the assessment of the control effectiveness of our Sustainability data partners processes through effective stakeholder engagement thorough documentation and proactive material preparation.
To succeed in this role you must have strong critical thinking skills keen attention to detail and excellent time management. We are looking for someone who can use their passion for sustainability to demonstrate through high-quality reporting and disclosures Sun Lifes progress in ensuring the long-term resilience of our organization and maximizing our ability to advance our Purpose.
What will you do
Support data collection process (including request setup user access and metric enhancement)
Assist in the preparation of onboarding materials and PowerPoint presentations for data collection kick-off meetings with data partners
Perform initial review of Sustainability data partners processes to evaluate control effectiveness providing insights and recommendations to the Manager of Sustainability Data and Processes
Manage recordkeeping of key artifacts in our centralized database
Support stakeholder engagement through e-mail communication working with executive assistants.
Support process documentation and improvement projects
What do you need to succeed
A passion for Sustainability and pursuing education in business finance or sustainability with a business/finance component
Strong critical thinking problem-solving skills and communication skills
Keen attention to detail when reviewing quantitative and qualitative information
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet reporting deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint)
Committed to Sun Lifes Purpose and the role we can play in helping to create better and brighter future for communities across the globe through our Purpose. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including pivot tables advanced formatting and tables/graphs
Experience in evaluating internal controls through past work experience would be an asset
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of the co-op (September 2025 - December 2025)
Must be an undergraduate or graduate student studying business finance economics or similar area
Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours a week) between September - December 2025
Involvement in extra-curricular/volunteering activities

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
