TITLE

AssistantProfessorTenureTrackofHealthcareAdministrationMerrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship

JOB SUMMARY

This position involves full-time support of the delivery of graduate programs in Health Care courses as well as engaging in scholarly research and academic and professional service. While the home location for this position will be the T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences campus inDallastheMasterofHealthcareAdministrationis also offeredonthe online or hybrid course formats in support of enrolled students. TheHealthcareAdministrationprogramhasapproximately443graduatestudentsandis accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). The program is housed in theMerrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).

ORGANIZATIONALRELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: DirectorofHealthcareAdministrationProgram

Supervises: MaysuperviseGraduateAssistantsasneeded

PRIMARYDUTIES-Mayincludebutarenotlimitedtothefollowing:

Teaching graduate courses delivered in multiple teaching formats. Preference given to applicants with course/work experience in Health Services Quality Healthcare Finance/Economics Health Policy and Health Informatics. Adjustments can be made to accommodate research interests.

DevelopingenhancingevaluatingaswellasteachingMHAcourses.

Engaginginacademicorappliedresearchinalignmentwithcollegeandprogramrequirements.

Service activities are also required are expected to support the attainment of program and CollegegoalsandmayinvolveservicetostudentstotheprogramtotheCollegetheuniversity or dean.

Maintaining an on-campus office presence as well as convenient office hours for students that meet departmental expectations.

Engaging in regular student advising career advising and establishing student mentoring relationships.

Contributingtoandbeingresponsibleforoverallstudentsuccess.

Working collaboratively with academic personnel to conduct and oversee academic quality including but not limited to program level assessment and institutional effectiveness.

Collaboratingwithfacultyinthedesignplanningandevaluationofstudentlearningandprogram assessment.

WorkingwiththeprogramdirectorandfacultytoeffectivelyrespondtotheCAHMEstandardsand other reporting requirements to maintain our accreditation.

Attending regular departmental or college meetings which may involve travel to Denton or Houston on occasion.

Performingotherdutiesasrequired.

EDUCATION

A Doctorate degree in Healthcare Administration or related field with sufficient qualifications to of healthcare finance quality policy or informatics is ideal.

EXPERIENCE

This position prefers a record of professional success in the health care industry in addition to minimum educational qualifications excellent oral and written communications skills as well as the ability to develop relationships with local and regional healthcare organizations arerequired. Prior teaching experience andexperience in the generation analysis and dissemination of data is desired.

  • Working knowledge of technology and systems used to deliver educational programs to students such as Canvas Blackboard Microsoft Office SPSS etc.
