This Retirement Benefits Specialist position is part of the Benefits Determination Division of SERS which reviews historical account information analyzes a wide variety of data and interprets and applies the terms and provisions of governing policies procedures contracts legal documents and actuarial calculations. In this role you will perform mathematical calculations prepare and provide technical assistance and perform customer service activities.
Additional duties include serving as a resource to the Chief Counsels Office on court orders pertaining to member accounts; handling multiple service account processing for members with both SERS and PSERS service; calculating member account data when a retiree returns to state service; attaching support orders and tax levies to member accounts; and processing discontinued disabilities for members currently receiving disability benefits.
