As part of our team youll have the opportunity to use your skills to influence a variety of services andwitness the direct impact of our work on our communities.

The Role:

  • Producing accurate budget reports on time and attend budgetary control meetings with clients
  • Undertake routine reconciliations and oversee the control of control accounts process journals and virements
  • To work with client services to identify quantify and report/escalate significant financial issues or weaknesses
  • To provide support and/or attend strategic meetings with business reporting manager/service accountant and client departments
  • To ensure that data (revenue and capital) within the Councils electronic financial management system is secure and accurate.
  • To support the Councils annual budget setting process
  • To support in the completion of the Councils final accounts and associated external reporting requirements (including statutory returns)
  • To provide support to ensure that major projects capital schemes and/or business opportunities in their client services are consistent with corporate and/or service objectives and priorities and are appropriately appraised financially robust and legal.
  • To contribute to the delivery of financial training to key stakeholders

Working Pattern:

37 hours per week hybrid working available.

What youll need to succeed:

The successful candidate will be Senior AAT or part CCAB qualified with relevant experience with a background in financial accounting. You will be able demonstrate a good understanding of medium-term financial planning and forecasting and the ability to provide financial advice relating to financial standards closure of accounts and financial modelling.

Excellent Communication skills are essential with the proven ability to build strong relationships and workcollaboratively. You should be comfortable explaining complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-financial managers as well as working closely with a wide range of stakeholders and external partners.
