Overview
The SAP ABAP BTP (RAP) Consultant plays a pivotal role in the implementation and enhancement of SAP solutions within an organization. This position is integral to ensuring that business processes are optimized by leveraging the capabilities of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and the RAP (Rapid Application Programming) model. The consultant will apply their expertise in ABAP programming and modern application development techniques to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the specific requirements of the business. With the increasing demand for rapid application development and digital transformation initiatives the SAP ABAP BTP (RAP) Consultant is essential for driving innovation and ensuring that systems are scalable efficient and aligned with the organization s strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams analyzing complex business needs and translating them into technical specifications to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop applications using SAP ABAP on BTP.
- Implement RAP model solutions to ensure efficient application development.
- Collaborate with business analysts to gather and understand business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop solutions.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of applications and databases.
- Utilize web services and APIs for system integration.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
- Assist in deployment processes and ensure proper documentation is in place.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for application issues.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and trends.
- Work closely with QA teams to ensure quality assurance of deliverables.
- Engage in agile development practices and participate in sprint planning.
- Provide training and support to end-users on SAP applications.
- Contribute to application lifecycle management processes.
- Continually assess and improve existing SAP applications based on user feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in ABAP programming.
- Proven experience with SAP BTP and RAP development.
- Strong knowledge of database design and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with web services (SOAP REST) and SAP integration technologies.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience in troubleshooting and debugging complex application issues.
- Certification in SAP ABAP or related technologies is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies.
- Experience with frontend technologies (UI5 Fiori) is an advantage.
- Understanding of SAP modules (FI MM SD) is beneficial.
- Willingness to participate in continuous learning and professional development.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
