Job Description

POLITICOs mission is to equip influential professionals with the nonpartisan high-impact policy intelligence they need to lead. Through our Professional Subscriptionsincluding POLITICO Pro E&E News and Agency IQwe deliver the depth tools and insights that power key decisions in Washington and beyond.

Were looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our Strategic Accounts teamresponsible for deepening relationships with POLITICOs largest and most high-value customers including major corporations and associations. As a Senior Account Manager you will own a portfolio of approximately 5075 key accounts across multiple industries. You will drive account growth through strategic engagement business acumen and meaningful customer conversations. Youll partner closely with a dedicated Customer Success team to deliver a best-in-class client experiencebalancing vision-setting with execution.

What Youll Do:

  • Build and execute strategic account plans focused on retention upsell and long-term expansion
  • Lead high-impact conversationsboth virtual and in-personwith stakeholders across customer organizations from daily users to senior executives
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and product adoption (POLITICO Pro US Pro Europe and E&E News)
  • Build cross-functional partnerships to advance strategic initiatives resolve complex account issues and ensure alignment with evolving product and market priorities
  • Develop and lead de-risking strategies to protect revenue and strengthen client value ahead of potential contractions or churn
  • Partner with Customer Success to align on delivery strategy and deepen customer value
  • Leverage insights from usage account health and industry trends to recommend relevant solutions
  • Drive renewals with a focus on longer-term contracts and YoY growth targets
  • Represent POLITICO with credibility and empathy serving as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders
  • Log activity and maintain pipeline hygiene in Salesforce sharing updates with leadership as needed

What Youll Need:

  • 7-10 years of experience in account management client success or consultative sales
  • A proven track record of growing accounts through renewals upsell and cross-sell
  • Experience successfully working cross-functionally with a Customer Success team to deliver client outcomes
  • Comfort navigating complex organizations and building relationships across all levels of seniority
  • Excellent written verbal and presentation skills
  • High business and sales acumenyou know how to connect policy impact to business needs
  • A strategic mindset able to think beyond one transaction to grow long-term account value
  • A growth mindsetyou believe we all have room to improve and you value ongoing coaching and development
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
