SEBMF-East Bay Medical FoundationPosition Overview:
Provides photographic documentation of ocular disorders/pathology as requested by providers. Performs a wide variety of highly technical and diagnostic testing procedures at the direction of the physician independent of direct supervision which requires technical judgment and knowledge of ophthalmic pathophysiology in order to obtain optimal results. Captures close-up images of patients retinas corneas and other ocular structures by focusing specialized microscope and cameras to take two and three dimensional photographs of external anterior and posterior segments of eye.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
COA-Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
OR COT-Certified Ophthalmic Technologist
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
1 year of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of retinal fundus photography both film and digital systems.
Knowledge understanding and ability to operate state of the art optical imaging equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and eye anatomy.
Clear and complete documentation skills along with computer data entry skills to enter patient information.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with high degree of motivation.

Pay Range is $42.80 to $55.62 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidates experience education skills licensure and certifications department equity training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
