Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Support the companys vision and mission statement as indicated in the employee manual and participates in the companys continuous improvement program (M.A.D.).

Financial Accounting and Bookkeeping:
Prepare examine or analyze accounting records financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

  • Check figures postings and documents for correct entry mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset module/depreciation.
  • Maintain prepaid expenses/amortization.
  • Assist with month end close process.
  • Create subsidiary ledger spreadsheets using Excel and other reporting and analysis tools.
  • Create necessary adjusting journal entries to the general ledger under general and specific direction from the Controller.
  • Assist with daily sales updating.
  • Stay current with developments in the profession of accounting and bookkeeping via workshops reading and classes.

Internal Audit / Process Improvement / Projects:

  • Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel
  • Develop implement modify and document recordkeeping and accounting systems making use of current computer technology.
  • Survey financial operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend develop or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Internal audit duties.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and other components of MS Office.

Finance and Other Administrative Duties:

  • Workers compensation reporting.
  • Annual state and federal registrations.
  • Preparation of Sales Tax returns
  • Completion of vendor and customer information forms.
  • Process customer credit applications.
  • Create print monthly customer statements.
  • Supervise record retention and storage of general ledger related materials.
  • Contract management.
  • Provide administration support to the Controller
  • Other administrative accounting and bookkeeping duties as assigned.
