Overview
Millimans Indianapolis Health Practice is seeking aChild Welfare Intern who will support research and analysis of child welfare and behavioral health issues at both state and national levels for our growing team. This paid part-time position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development with a remote team of subject matter experts. This person will join a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary project team.

Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Conduct summarize and document research and analysis of child welfare and behavioral health issues at both state and national levels
- Support the consulting team in developing solutions and strategies for clients
- Participate in internal meetings and contribute to discussions on project development
- Prepare reports and presentations under the guidance of experienced consultants
- Engage in special projects as assigned providing valuable insights and recommendations
- Keep abreast of trends and federal level changes affecting child welfare and behavioral health
- Ensure quality control processes and procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Strong organization and time management skills with attention to detail to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Strong written andverbal communication skills
- Ability to strategically and creatively process information and communicate with all levels within the organization
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently manage own work
- Superior problem-solving capabilities and superior learning agility
- Attention to detail
- Ability to apply skills learned on one project to subsequent analyses
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Required
- Currently enrolled in a Masters degree program in Social Work Public Policy Public Health Public Administration or a related field
- Bachelors Degree in Social Work Public Policy Public Health Public Administration or a related field
Preferred
- Background in child welfare and/or behavioral health
Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.
The Team
The Indianapolis Health Practice provides tailored support to clients on a range of behavioral health and child welfare initiatives. We assist states with behavioral health policy programming rate setting and finance needs customizing our solutions to each clients unique context. Recognizing the interplay between multiple funding sources and authorities we use a holistic and multifaceted approach to addressing the unique needs of diverse stakeholders. As behavioral health becomes increasingly critical Milliman is committed to helping communities and states navigate their pressing behavioral health challenges across the continuum of care.
Location
This role is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis IN but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

Compensation
The overall hourly range for this role is $19 - $40 per hour.
For candidates residing in:
- Alaska California Connecticut Illinois Maryland Massachusetts New Jersey Pennsylvania Virginia Washington or the District of Columbia the salary range is $21 - $36 per hour.
- New York City Newark San Jose or San Francisco the salary range is $23 - $40 per hour.
- All other locations the salary range is $19 - $33 per hour.
A combination of factors will be considered including but not limited to education relevant work experience qualifications skills certifications etc.
