Senior Governance and Oversight Consultant M&G Life

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Governance and Oversight Consultant to join the Risk Assurance and Remediation area within our Life business. The role will support the Governance and Readiness Manager and Head of Governance and Readiness to oversee and manage our Third Party suppliers and Intra-Group arrangements.

The candidate will support and lead the day-to-day oversight and governance of service(s) received from our Third Parties and Intra-Group arrangements ensuring services are delivered in line with third party risk management (TPRM) standards. The role holder will be responsible for business readiness activities including:

  • Oversight and assurance of change activity against the business readiness framework.
  • Acting as an SME for business readiness.
  • Working with the wider business during onboarding of new suppliers to ensure appropriate governance and policy readiness in place for go live.

This role will have a blended approach between working from home and our office in Stirling (2-3 days).

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

Governance and Oversight of Third-Party Arrangements:

  • Understand the M&G TPRM policy and standards and how these apply to the Life business.
  • Support the Governance and Readiness Manager to manage a portfolio of material and non-material suppliers ensuring compliance with third-party risk management and outsourcing policies.
  • Chair and oversee relevant governance forums providing facilitation challenge escalation and guidance for committee members.
  • Produce reports and management information (MI) related to the Supplier Arrangement to ensure effective and ongoing management of the Third Party Arrangement.
  • Serve as a point of contact between M&G and third-party providers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders third-party suppliers and service providers to ensure collaboration and drive business forward.
  • Deliver effective stakeholder engagement to leadership promptly highlighting challenges related to third-party services.
  • Provide support on business escalations to and from third-party suppliers ensuring adherence to appropriate oversight processes and escalation management routes.
  • Initiate and track remediation activities associated with third-party arrangements ensuring timely completion.

Business readiness activity

  • Responsible for the oversight of business readiness on change activity across the Life business to mitigate risk and protect positive customer outcomes.
  • Act as the SME for change assurance activity.
  • Support the business and applying change readiness standards to smaller change activity.
  • Work with third party suppliers to validate their business readiness frameworks and gain assurance on any changes being delivered.

Key Knowledge Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of risk assurance and/or supplier oversight in a regulated financial services organisation or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Good knowledge and experience in managing a third-party relationship in a regulated financial services organisation or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements of the TPRM Policy Standards and Framework.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory & risk management frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of financial services.
  • Experience of change delivery and oversight.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management communication and influencing skills.
  • Working knowledge of life and pensions products markets and competitors.
