Part Time

Communications Assistant

Westchester Country Day School a pre-K12 independent school in High Point NC seeks a part-time Communications Assistant starting in the 2025-26 school year to support the schools communications and marketing efforts. This position collaborates with the Director of Communications and Marketing to produce compelling content that reflects the schools mission brand and programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Social media management Plan create and publish engaging content across the schools social media channels (e.g. Instagram Facebook LinkedIn). Maintain a content calendar and monitor trends to optimize engagement.

  • Content creation Capture and edit multimedia content (photos videos graphics audio) for use on social media and in digital and print materials. Ensure all content aligns with the schools visual identity and messaging. Organize tag and maintain digital media files.

  • Team support Attend school events to document through photography video and short-form written content (captions quotes recaps). Support the advancement team at special events and provide support or backup for email newsletters web updates and emergency communications as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in communications marketing journalism public relations or a related field; or relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Experience managing social media or creating content for an organization or brand as part of an integrated marketing communications strategy.

  • Excellent writing with a strong command of grammar style and tone and the ability to adapt to a particular brand voice institutional style and audience. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines within a production schedule.

  • Enthusiasm for storytelling that builds engagement for K-12 education.

  • Working knowledge of AP Style basic photography/videography and graphic design skills (Canva Adobe Creative Suite) and experience using basic project management tools.
