Job Description

PV HIGH SCHOOL

Food Service Worker

  • 4.5paid hrs/day
  • 10:30AM - 3:00 PM
  • $16.66/hour after 60-day probationary period
  • Start Date: August 25 2025

TITLE: School Food Service Worker

QUALIFICATIONS: Is physically able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods and to walk much of the time during the day. Is able to work in warm surroundings. Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other pieces of kitchen equipment such as slicers mixers choppers and scales. Is able to lift materials weighing up to 45 pounds.

REPORTS TO: School Food Service Manager

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Is knowledgeable in the Type A meal requirements.
  2. May have specialized responsibilities such as cooking baking or salad preparation.
  3. May assist in the portioning and serving of food items.
  4. Uses ovens griddles fryers steamers steam kettles dish machines slicers mixers and other equipment.
  5. May assist in setting up service areas.
  6. May clean lunchroom after use.
  7. May be a cashier or ticket puncher.
  8. Performs such other duties as assigned by the manager.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year assigned according to the Letter of Assignment.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Food Service Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work - lifting carrying pushing pulling 20-50 lbs. occasionally 10-25 lbs. frequently or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Stooping and kneeling occasionally. Reaching talking and hearing frequently. Must be able to remain mobile throughout the work day.
