Job Summary:
The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time/hourly Adjunct Instructor. The successful candidate will:
- Teach and/or supervise students in clinical specialty areas (Medical-Surgical Pediatric Obstetrics and Gynecology Mental/Behavioral Health and Community Health Nursing).
- Orient students to the patient care unit hospital/agency policies procedures and appropriate patient record and documentation systems.
- Conduct clinical pre and post conferences with students to the specific roles and responsibilities; assign students to patients review clinical objectives and criteria with students and assign students to interpersonal case presentations.
- Provide and guide students as it relates to the College of Nursing clinical policies; evaluate students clinical performance and submit these to the Clinical Coordinator.
- Communicate with the Clinical Coordinator Program Director(s) and Executive Vice Dean.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree.
- Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner Licensure.
- 2 to 4 years of continuous clinical nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical undergraduate and graduate level teaching experience.
