Job Description

Business Development Manager

This position of Business Development Manager will be responsible for pursuing sales opportunities for the greater Savannah area market. The successful candidate will report directly to the Business Development Lead and have 6 years of experience in the Savannah region. Most importantly the individual must have a proven record of success in sales working with a construction company engaged in Industrial site development or relevant industry-related experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Leading the development of sales opportunities in support of the Business Plan for the greater Savannah area.

  • Directs and actively participates in planning the business development/capture strategy for specific prospects. Keeps aware of the business development activity and strategy of competitors including their pricing trends and approaches. Follows up on jobs won and lost to determine the reasons why the company was or was not selected.

  • Supervises the preparation and coordination of proposals including developing and managing proposal win plans and budgets.

  • Setting up face-to-face meetings with current and potential clients; 60% travel.

  • Develops strategy and leads proposal presentations and negotiations with clients.

  • Building and maintaining personal relationships with appropriate middle and senior management executives at major service providers.

  • Keeping informed of customers present and future plans for growth projects and programmatic and technical requirements.

  • Develops teaming and pricing strategies and leads proposal and pricing reviews with functional and senior managers.

  • Develops strategy and leads proposal presentations with customers.

  • Directs the preparation and ensures corporate approval of contracts for awarded projects.

  • Keeps informed of business relationships between CAM managers and key executives in customer and prospective customer organizations and sees that these are utilized in overall business development efforts.

Basic Qualifications


  • Proven track record of maintaining personal relationships with appropriate middle and senior management executives in customer organizations and strategic teaming partners.

  • Experience in sales and marketing well versed in all aspects of the Civil and Industrial markets.

  • Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering.

  • 6 years prior industry related business development experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to produce and deliver highly professional proposals and presentations.

  • Ability to work a number of sales opportunities simultaneously and meeting deadlines.

  • Thorough knowledge of company capabilities and services to other customers.

  • Knowledge of corporate policies and directives related to proposal and contract formulation.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize resources.

  • Must have valid drivers license
