Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide direct adapted physical education services to students with disabilities Develop units of instruction that are aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks Prepare implement and evaluate Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives for students based on individually assessed needs and in accordance with collaborative/district procedures Develop Individual Education Programs (IEP) maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goalsProvide support to students in inclusionary experiences in a public school settingServe as a consultant to teachers staff and schools regarding physical education needs of individual studentsRecommend physical education equipment and maintain inventory of equipment and instructional suppliesCommunicate with Collaborative personnel and parents/guardians of students regarding the rate of student evaluations/screenings/standardized testing in accordance with Collaborative guidelinesComplete daily service documentation and data collectionDifferentiate instruction based on assessment and implement lesson plans and show written evidence of preparation as and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students a positive role model for students and support the mission of the Collaborative Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of student behavior Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and a professional relationship with colleagues students parents/guardians and community effective communication skills to present information accurately and in staff development activities to improve job-related informed of and comply with state and Collaborative regulations and policies for maintain and file all reports records and other documents support when necessaryOther student-related assigned responsibilities as neededEMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:Participation in a mentoring/training sessions across SCEC programsCompletion of DESE mandated training Opportunities for job mobility: on-going career counseling; training opportunities; degree/licensure programs; other professional development opportunitiesSouth Coast Educational Collaborative encourages diverse applicants to apply.
