Reporting to the Director Capacity Access and Flow
Join Ontario Health West as a Specialist in Capacity Access and Flow (CAF) where youll play a key role in advancing hospital-based programs such as Surgery Diagnostic Imaging Emergency Departments and hospital flow. This regional role supports complex planning projects and system-wide initiatives that improve access quality and patient outcomes across the West Region.
Here is what you will be doing:
Support the development of health-care system funding plans and manage project plans and budgets for planning and integration activities.
Monitor and respond to emerging community issues using predictive models and stakeholder input.
Lead quality improvement activities and implementation monitoring across CAF initiatives.
Analyze local health system data to identify service gaps and inform planning priorities.
Promote evidence-based planning and contribute to the development of methodologies in health planning.
Facilitate stakeholder consultations assess the impact of planning decisions and build consensus for action.
Collaborate with Lead-level staff to manage regional initiatives and ensure alignment with Ontario Health West priorities.
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and contribute to a culture of safety and psychological well-being.
Support adherence to health service accountability agreements and coordinate initiatives that enhance quality and patient safety.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in health administration health planning business administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a health care environment.
3-5 years experience working in a healthcare setting; hospital experience preferred but not required.
Demonstrated experience with using Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint Excel and other emerging applications and programs.
Knowledge and Skills:
Good knowledge of and proven ability to apply multiple planning and analysis methodologies and make effective recommendations.
Understanding of the current and changing dynamics of the Ontario health-care system and issues.
Experience with hospital environment and policies is an asset.
Understanding and experience with embedding quality improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated financial competence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other staff and to liaise with colleagues across Ontario Health and with contacts in the Ministry
Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a face paced environment with multiple priorities
Uses information to make informed decisions and provides advice; exercises high degree of independence and professional judgment in problem solving
Solid written and verbal communication skills. Internally communicates with colleagues throughout the organization to present discuss information and problems related to financial management and funding. Externally communicates directly with various stakeholders to monitor funding allocations and performance.
Strong attention to detail demonstrated integrity and professionalism with a solid understanding of financial controls.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.
Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
