Position:Assistant Principal
Reports to:Site Principal
Mission Statement:
The Assistant Principal shall work directly under the supervision of the Site be responsible to the Site Principal for coordinating all activities relating to education on the assigned campus. TheAssistant Principal shall also establish and supervise a management system for the performance of operations under their supervision.
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for valid Oklahoma Administrator Certification.
- Previous experience as an elementary classroom teacher.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goals:
- To assist in the supervision of the functions and activities of staff. To assist the building staff and advise the Site Principal in planning coordinating directing staffing and evaluating the instructional and professional development programs.
- To establish and maintain an effective learning climate.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Supervise evaluate and assign all certified and classified staff members.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students staff families and the community.
- Use current research performance data and feedback from teachers parents and students to make decisions on program change and/or modification.
- Stay current on educational changes and developments through reading professional literature and attending professional meetings.
- Facilitate implementation of the code of student conduct in accordance with school and system policiesto ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of a systematic method of supervising the instructional program through the use of learning walks observations documentation and follow-up conferences.
- Screen and interview prospective staff members to recommend to the Site Principal.
- Incorporates technology into management into instructional processes.
- Resolve issues among staff students and parents which arise in work areas covered by this job description.
- Coordinate staff activities and communication.
- Implement professional development training for all staff members.
- Direct intern teacher program for the campus in assigned department/grade levels.
- Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations by the schools staff and students.
- Supervise the educational program by assisting in the development revision and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Provide directand indirect supervision of all students assigned to the campus.
- Provide screening classroom placement and transition of students from other grade levels/schools.
- Provide communications to students and families assigned to the campus.
- Establish guides for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline according due process to the rights of students.
- Participate in formal and informal conferences with parents and other members of the public.
- Supervise the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
- Assist in planning coordinating and evaluating the present instructional program; develop and implement new programs.
- Promote and implement Jenks Public Schools goals and strategic objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Terms of Employment:Eleven (11) months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.

Evaluation:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Educations policy on Staff Evaluation (2.20/certified).
