Position Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant

Duration: Long Term

Location: Annapolis MD 21401. - Hybrid

Job Description:

Bachelors degree or postgraduate degree in engineering computer science or related field (as determined by the AOC).

• The AOC has pre-determined that degrees in the following fields are not related: Bachelors in Agricultural and Resource Economics and Masters in Business Administration.

Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

• The certification must be issued by Red Hat.

• The certification may be either current or non-current provided that the certification ID is supplied and in valid status for the proposed resource.

The AOC prefers the Offerors proposed resource to have the following qualifications:

1. Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.

2. Ten (10) or more years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.

3. Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.

Scope of Work

1. Offeror proposed resource shall be responsible for the following:

2. Installing configuring and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development testing and production environments.

3. Performing system upgrades patch management and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.

4. Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.

5. Implementing automation scripts using Ansible Bash or Python to streamline system administration tasks.

6. Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite Identity Management (IdM) and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.

7. Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.

8. Maintaining and optimizing storage backup and disaster recovery solutions.

9. Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.

10. Maintaining documentation for system configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.

11. anticipating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.

12. Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.

13. Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.

Offeror Resource(s) Skills Experience and Capabilities:

Offeror shall propose a resource possessing the following preferred skills experience and capabilities:

Experience with:

1. Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.

2. Administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.

3. Administering systems including but not limited to the applications below:

   1. Oracle WebLogic Servers

   2. Oracle Database Servers

   3. Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge

   4. Apache Web Servers

   5. vSphere hosted RHEL Servers.

   6. Rubrik backup systems.

   7. Oracle Database backups.

   8. PeopleSoft

   9. Mobius

   10. Elastic Search

   11. Oracle OBI

   12. CVS (Concurrent Version System)

4. Red Hat performance tuning.

5. Load balancing partitioning back-up/recovery and disaster recovery.

6. Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability.

7. Application development.

8. Red Hat Support.

Electronic Imaging Support.

Ability to:

• Work in a team environment.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.

• Demonstrate leadership skills.

• Interface with users and helpdesk for day-to-day support.

• Provide Backup/recovery and networking methodologies.

• Troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS) database and application levels.

Knowledge of:

• Red Hat administration including configuration and tuning.
