Job Description:
We are seeking aProcess Inspector Level Dto work at our new AMF inHuntsville AL which will be our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. Work schedule will be driven by unit operation requirements but will be on a 9/80 basis. The role entailsProcess Inspectors - Precision Inspection work within established procedures to perform inspections that require a high degree of accuracy and precision using advanced pieces of equipment to produce high-quality products.
Essential Functions:
Use precision inspection techniques (CMM Laser Tracker Romer Arm MetraScan etc.) to inspect products manufacturing tooling processes and procured items to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Work closely with cognizant Quality Engineers to write and qualify CMM programs.
Provide tooling inspection data to Quality Engineering to support the Huntsville calibration system.
Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge to interpret engineering requirements and be able to correlate these requirements to CMM inspection results.
Use critical thinking skills to troubleshoot inconsistent inspection results provided by CMM Laser Tracker Romer Arm MetraScan etc.
Work with the operations team to ensure products meet specifications and schedule requirements. Coordinate with the Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers in operations to troubleshoot and recommend solutions for problems.
Oversee and train on the use of various precision measuring devices (CMM Laser Tracker Romer Arm MetraScan etc.).
Accept or reject defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
Thorough knowledge and full understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience operating a wide range of Precision Inspection equipment (CMM Laser Tracker Romer Arm MetraScan etc.).
Experience with Standard Measurement Instruments (SMI) (e.g. calipers micrometer etc.).
Extensive understanding of AS9100 and related quality management standards.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8years of prior process inspectionexperience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4years of prior process inspectionexperience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with Zeiss Calypso programming.
Experience with Spatial Analyzer software.
Experience with Build-It inspection software.
Experience leading and communicating with a team.
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI).
Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis.
