Summary of the role:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Womens Lead to oversee the design and development of Tops (Knits & Wovens) for our womens category. Reporting to the Design Director you will lead a team of designers drive seasonal collections and ensure our products remain trend-right high-quality and aligned with LS&Co brand values. This role requires a strategic mindset excellent leadership & collaboration skills and a deep understanding of the Indian female consumer market
About the role:
- Manage a team of designers across the womens category encouraging a collaborative and environment.
- Develop and execute seasonal product strategies for Tops in tandem with Bottoms ensuring understanding of brand direction and customer expectations. Improve collection cohesion between gender categories & overall concept.
- Create innovation in design fabric selection fit and finishes for denim and non-denim categories with a focus on sustainability profitability and margin optimization.
- Collaborate with merchandising sourcing and production teams to ensure product viability cost-effectiveness engineered designs to meet target costs and delivery.
- Analyze market trends customer insights and sales data to inform design decisions and enhance product performance.
- Manage end-to-end design processes from concept to final product approval ensuring standards.
- Present seasonal collections to senior leadership promoting design concepts inspirations and commercial value.
- Foster an inclusive values-driven team culture following Levi Strauss & Co. values.
About you:
- 12 years of experience in apparel design with a focus on womens categories (Tops & Bottoms) and managing design teams.
- Experience designing both denim and non-denim products with a portfolio showcasing your work.
- Strong understanding of the Indian fashion market consumer preferences and retail landscape.
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator Photoshop) and an ability to create and review detailed tech packs.
- Proven expertise in design-to-cost methodologies with a understanding of costing components and the ability to engineer products that meet target margins.
- Excellent leadership communication and presentation skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Commercial experience with the ability to balance creative vision with our goals.
- Passion for sustainability quality expertise and Levis brand heritage.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong collaboration ability & influencing skills to drive POV.
