STEAM Interventionist/CoachMemorial Elementary SchoolThis position is responsible for supporting the comprehensive implementation STEAM (Science Technology and Engineering and Math) instruction. The position will help develop STEAM literacy through a cross-sector approach maintaining a program infrastructure that supports future-ready teaching and learning for all coordinating programming aligned to innovation and entrepreneurship and by coaching supporting and guiding teachers in best practices/pedagogies for integrative STEAM instruction. In addition the position will provide direct mathematics instruction and intervention to students who are identified through data review as in need of additional :- Provides direct math intervention/instruction to students who are identified as needing additional support.- Coaches and supports teachers in planning delivering and assessing quality STEAM instruction.- Assists teachers with classroom organization materials procurement and STEAM-based learning activities that support identified targets and objectives.- Leads interdisciplinary planning sessions in order to develop cross-curricular inter- and trans- disciplinary learning experiences.- Communicates with internal and external STEAM stakeholders.- Collaborates regularly with the Director of STEAM Technology Teacher Mathematics Interventionists and building administrator.- Analyzes data to determine benchmarks establish goals and monitor improvement in assigned areas and develops concrete steps within the school department or classroom to address identified needs.- Supports the work of teams by attending and participating in team meetings as needed.- Demonstrates a strong knowledge of state and national STEAM-related standards and the ability to model and employ science/engineering practices and computational thinking skills.- Attends and participates in professional development to improve and maintain knowledge of content instructional strategies coaching skills and adult learning theory.- Keeps detailed records related to all aspects of the position.- Models non discriminatory practices in all : Must possess a Bachelors degree and be eligible for an appropriate Massachusetts teaching license. Advanced degree and/or education certifications in Elementary 1-6 General Science 1-6 or Math 1-6 . Must possess at least 5 years of effective teaching experience in WSPS preferably across levels/contents and demonstrate documented success in the area of integrative STEAM education. Must possess exemplary ratings on observations summatives and formative evaluations. Experience as a related instructional leadership position required. Must possess an in-depth knowledge of STEAM research and instructional best practices/pedagogies. Must possess effective instructional delivery methods and the ability to guide and train teachers in effective techniques and strategies. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers administrators and students. Salary: Per Unit A Contract
