JOB SUMMARY

Eastside Catholic is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate will commit to our academic goals of developing critical thinking skills and scientific practices while demonstrating excellent communication skills strong collaborative skills and a commitment to educating the whole student.

Specific Responsibilities

• Establish clear objectives for assigned lessons labs learning targets and projects and communicate those objectives to students following department curriculum
• Collaborate with Science Department colleagues to align curriculum and share innovative teaching ideas and best practices
• Plan and teach five middle school science classes for grades 6-8 teaching topics including earth space life and physical sciences
• Aligning classroom instruction with state and national standards specifically Next Generation Science Standards
• A passion for subject content material and the skills required to guide students in developing conceptual understanding through science practices such as modeling and arguing from evidence
• Oversee and assess the development and progress of each student
• Participate in faculty department and committee meetings as required
• Serve as a Mentor teacher to a group of 15-18 students

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Effective skills to foster positive relationships with students and their families
• Passion for teaching middle school students and a deep understanding of their developmental needs and subject material
• Experience implementing differentiated instruction to meet a range of student needs
• Proficiency with classroom technology and digital learning tools
• Strong interpersonal collaborative and organizational skills
• A commitment to practices that promote equity inclusion and belonging in the classroom and school community

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree or higher with an academic emphasis in education or science
• Recent experience teaching at the middle school level
• Experience teaching curriculum aligned with the NGSS
• Experience with standards-based assessment (preferred)
• Experience using Amplify curriculum (preferred)
• Teaching certificate (preferred)
• Graduate degree in a science-related field or education (preferred)

Salary:$54500-$109105annually

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
