Career Consulting Partners has partnered with an established law firm with over 50 Attorneys in Southern California. We are actively seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 57 years of experience to join the Trusts & Estates division in Pasadena California.
The successful candidate will hold an active CPA license and bring a high level of technical skill and attention to detail in the area of estate and trust taxation. In this role you will be responsible for the preparation and review of complex tax filings including IRS Forms 706 (Estate Tax Return) 709 (Gift Tax Return) 1041 (Fiduciary Income Tax Return) and California State Form 541 (Fiduciary Return). You will also assist with trust funding and allocations often involving multiple sub-trusts and complex estate structures.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Prepare and review federal and state estate and trust tax returns: Form and CA Form 541.
Handle complex trust funding and allocations including marital bypass GST-exempt and GST non-exempt sub-trusts.
Conduct detailed financial and tax analysis related to post-death administration and estate planning strategies.
Coordinate with attorneys fiduciaries clients wealth advisors and other professionals to gather and interpret necessary financial data.
Stay current on tax laws and regulations related to estate gift fiduciary income taxation and GST concepts.
Support IRS audits and inquiries as needed for estate and trust filings.
Maintain accurate and well-organized documentation to support return positions and planning recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Active CPA license (Required)
57 years of CPA experience with a focus in estate and trust taxation
Proven expertise in preparing and reviewing IRS Forms and CA Form 541
Prior experience working in law firms trust companies or private client service groups preferred
Strong understanding of trust funding mechanics and allocation strategies
Excellent analytical communication and organizational skills
Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g. Lacerte CCH Axcess UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary range is between $110000 - $140000
