Job Description
ZF LIFETEC is one of the worlds leading suppliers of passive safety systems. As Simi Automotive a global innovation leader for motion capture software and complete systems for recording and analyzing human movements and a subsidiary of ZF LIFETEC we contribute our experience with camera-based systems to developing solutions for vehicle interior monitoring and occupant safety. We are working on adaptive restraint systems with our colleagues at ZF LIFETEC.
Tasks
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior ML Engineer to join our AI team. As a Senior ML Engineer you will be responsible for exciting projects in the domain of vehicle interior monitoring and production quality monitoring. You would understand the customer requirements break them down into smaller more manageable parts and design ML solutions to fulfil them.
Your responsibilities
- Understanding requirements at a higher level and designing an ML strategy to solve them.
- Identifying state-of-the-art ML and Computer Vision techniques that solve our use cases.
- Designing experiments for proof of concepts for our tasks and implementing them for a thorough analysis.
- Developing deep neural network pipelines for image classification detection segmentation pose-estimation etc.
- Guiding and managing the ML team for various projects.
- Defining evaluation strategies and performing a detailed analysis of the model performance.
- Identifying corner cases and propose solutions to solve them.
- Analyzing model performance in real-life demonstrations in vehicles.
- Migration of models to embedded devices (compression and optimization regarding target hardware).
- Integration of these models into productive software systems.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- PhD degree in the field of computer science with a focus on machine learning and computer vision.
- Experience in managing ML projects and teams.
- Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning advancements in object detection pose estimation and classification tasks.
- Expert programming skills in Python and its packages including PyTorch Tensorflow openCV etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in occupant monitoring and driver monitoring systems.
- Experience in GenAI techniques such as diffusion models variational autoencoders GANs etc
- Experience in the migration of machine learning models to embedded systems.
