Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Overview:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of machinery equipment and facilities in the CRGO manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all machinery and equipment are functioning optimally to meet production goals and safety standards. The individual will lead a team of maintenance technicians and collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime improve efficiency and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Operations:
- Plan organize and lead the plants preventive predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure the timely and effective of scheduled maintenance work on all machinery equipment and systems in the CRGO manufacturing process.
- Oversee troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues in production equipment ensuring rapid response to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement a maintenance strategy that reduces unplanned outages and improves equipment reliability.
- Team Management:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers ensuring high performance and productivity.
- Allocate tasks track work progress and provide technical support to the team as required.
- Promote a culture of safety teamwork and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety environmental and quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of machinery tools and equipment to identify safety hazards.
- Train the team in safe work practices and industry-specific regulatory requirements (such as ISO OHSAS etc..
- Budget Management:
- Manage the maintenance department s budget ensuring that expenditures are controlled and within planned limits.
- Optimize maintenance costs by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Equipment and Spare Parts Management:
- Develop and manage an inventory system for critical spare parts and components.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to maintain stock levels and reduce lead times for critical parts.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement in machine reliability efficiency and maintenance procedures.
- Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment issues to ensure long-term solutions are in place.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that align with company goals.
- Project Management:
- Oversee installation commissioning and startup of new equipment or upgrades.
- Lead maintenance-related projects and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with other departments including production engineering and quality to support plant-wide projects.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including work orders inspections and performance data.
- Provide regular reports on maintenance KPIs downtime analysis and progress on key initiatives to senior management.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in maintenance management ideally in the steel manufacturing CRGO or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong background in the operation and maintenance of large-scale machinery with specific experience in electrical mechanical and hydraulic systems.
