ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a Building Supervisor with experience in managing the day-to-day running of building management maintenance and facilities within the building. You will also have knowledge ofHealth and Safety regulation procedures.
Required skills and experience:
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Driving licence
- Good physical fitness and ability to work alone and unsupervised
- Ability to gain knowledge of sampling techniques and relevant laboratory operations/standards and properties of relevant chemical products
- Good IT literacy skills (MS Office/Excel/Word)
- Able to work unaided and be a self-starter
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking someone to maintain the running of the building including exterior sample stores yard and parking areas. You will also be required to supervise any building work carried out on-site. This role is critical to the running of the operation as this role looks after maintenance and facilities within the building as well as the storage of all samples gas cylinders/cylinder replacement and waste for all the laboratories.
Key activities:
- Supervise and organise any building work carried out onsite
- Ordering handling and replacing gases for the laboratory when required
- Ordering handling and replacing solvent drums when required
- Liaise with couriers to dispatch samples from the laboratory
- Maintaining the sample retention stores in good working order
- Assist in sample collections when required
- Assisting your line manager in the selection and recruitment of new staff
- Liaise with approved waste collection contractors to dispose of samples and other waste produced onsite
- Supervise building work carried out on site ensuring contractors comply with company procedures and the provisions of Health and Safety regulations
