Who are we looking for
Our Waterloo office is looking for a Senior Product Manager who will be responsible for the business & strategy leadership for the bids&tenders product portfolio. This position serves as the voice of the product business internally and as a brand ambassador externally. The Senior Product Manager will work in coordination with the senior leadership team sales & marketing operations partners and customers to set the overall business direction and strategic roadmap for the product portfolio.
This is a 6-month fixed term Contract role.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead representative of the Product Team in any key business strategy customer and partner meetings.
- Lead in the overall business analysis and understanding of the product marketplace customers and competitors.
- Lead in the development and ongoing refinement of the overall product strategy required for the success and growth of the product business.
- Lead for identification and engagement with key product / solution partners.
- Lead / conduct customer research market research competitive analysis.
- Work with Marketing to define target markets market positioning market sizing value proposition and differentiation and pricing & packaging models.
- Develop business cases to support new features / functionality / modules and/or product lines.
- Support the Product Managers Product Owners and the UX team to develop market requirements documents (MRDs).
- Work with Marketing to help design market research/pre-sales projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions.
- Attend support GHD exhibits and give presentations to mixed audiences about thought leadership markets problems technologies and GHD products at conferences.
- Represent the Head of Product and/or the department at internal and external events as required.

- Ability to build strong relationships with senior managers inside the company as well as key individuals outside the company.

- Excellent compelling written and verbal communicator.
- Able to clearly articulate complex concepts in a concrete way.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Experience with direct and indirect government tender and sales processes.
- Experience with CRM tools Confluence and JIRA.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Masters in business administration (MBA) in business technology engineering or software development (or a relative combination of education and experience).
- Pragmatic Certified Product Manager (ideally with specialization in Marketing Product Management and Innovation).
- Ideally holds a Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) designation. Ideally 10 years of experience in product business management product strategy product innovation and/or technology.
- Demonstrated ability to understand a product marketplace target customers and competitors and develop & drive effective product and business strategy.
- Demonstrated experience with product pricing models packaging and tiering.
- Passionate about engaging with customers and understanding their needs pain points and goals.
- Ideally 10 years of experience with SaaS and platform solutions.
- 5 years of experience working with / delivering solutions to municipal and other public sector organizations.
Other assets that would be useful are:
- Experience with online payments and ecommerce.
- Experience with user centric design.
- Experience with online analytics and data analysis.
