Summary Description:
The Supervisor of Professional Learning and Federal Programs supports division-wide professional learning and leads key initiatives such as mentoring induction and federal program implementation (Title I II and IV). Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction this role collaborates across departments to ensure high-quality aligned and equitable professional learning experiences that support educator effectiveness and student success. The supervisor also helps schools develop targeted support plans and ensures compliance with federal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Virginia postgraduate professional teaching license; endorsement in administration and supervision preferred
- Minimum of five years of teaching experience
- Administrative or supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working with all categories of employees and the public
- Knowledge of the theories principles practices methods and current trends of school administration connected to building and maintaining professional learning programs.
- Knowledge of best practices and industry standards related to effective leadership development professional development instructional coaching and succession planning programs within a K-12 organization.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail
Essential Duties

- Demonstrates expertise in the area of assignment.
- Makes decisions and recommendations that are aligned to the FCPS vision mission and strategic plan and that are based on current research collaborative conversation and the prevailing professional dialogue.
- Facilitates the vision for and development of professional learning for the division as well as at all levels/schools to meet the needs of all professional staff.
- Develops and implements effective professional learning plans.
- Evaluates and uses data related to professional learning to improve programs support administrators and develop opportunities for professional growth across the division.
- Ensures all verbal and written communication is clear effective and timely.
- Coordinates the use of our professional learning management system for program evaluation record-keeping and planning.
- Develops coordinates and manages division Title I II and IV programs and applications.
- Develops and facilitates annual needs assessments for Title II funding and prepares state applications and reports.
- Serves as a member of the FCPS Division Improvement Team.
- Manages all financial aspects of division professional learning and tiered systems of support.
- Oversees the mentoring program for the division.
- Completes and submits required reports and maintains records according to federal and state guidelines.
- Serves as liaison with the Virginia Department of Education.
- Meets and confers with the private schools participating in federal programs.
- Other duties as assigned through the immediate supervisor.
Pay Rate:
The salary range is $87370-$147402
Contract:
Full time / 12 months / 245 days
Start Date:
This position is effectivefor the2024-2025 school year. Applicants for the 2025-2026 school year will also be considered.
