Activities Manager East Pavilion at Southampton Memorial Hospital
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
- Responsible for managing all recreational therapy programs for residents and Residents with dementia/Alzheimers with support of Activities Coordinator.
- Manage and oversee group activities that meet the physical spiritual cognitive and psychosocial needs of the residents with support of Activities Coordinator.
- Oversee and manage Activities Coordinator.
- Complete 1:1 activities and document independent activities for residents who wish not to attend group programming.
- Evaluate activity effectiveness and residents responses in meeting individualized goals.
- Efficiently create neighborhood activity calendars and distribute them to residents families and staff.
- Oversee decorations for holidays/activities and update calendar boards as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Eligibility for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body (on/after 10/1/1990) or
- 2 years of experience in a full-time therapeutic program (social or recreational) within the last 5 years or
- The individual is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or OT assistant or
- Has completed a State-approved training course
