Job Description

Job Title:

Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician Reentry Peer Support Specialist (Part-Time In-Person)

Location:

Suffolk County NY

Employment Type:

Contract (Fee-for-Service)

Hourly Rate:

$30.00/hour (flat rate)

Weekly Hours:

Up to 17.5 hours/week

(Flexible schedule; evening availability preferred)

About the Role:

We are seeking compassionate and experienced Licensed Behavioral Health Clinicians to serve as Reentry Peer Support Specialists under the Suffolk County Department of Probations Reentry Task Force Grant Program. This initiative is designed to support individuals transitioning from incarceration reduce recidivism and promote successful reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Peer Support: Provide emotional and motivational support in one-on-one and group settings to individuals reentering society from incarceration.

Resource Navigation: Assist clients with accessing vital services including housing employment healthcare and other social services.

Skill Development: Teach life skills such as coping techniques job readiness financial literacy and healthy decision-making.

Collaboration: Work in partnership with community organizations treatment providers and criminal justice agencies to support clients holistically.

Reporting: Submit clear and timely reports on client progress and program outcomes to the Suffolk County Department of Probation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Lived Experience: Experience with incarceration recovery or reentry is required.

Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or a related field.

License: Valid behavioral health license preferred (LMSW LCSW LMHC or equivalent).

Skills: Strong interpersonal communication empathy and active listening.

Knowledge: Understanding of behavioral health trauma and substance use recovery.

Pay and amp; Schedule:

Hourly Rate: $30.00/hour

Weekly Hours: Up to 17.5 hours/week

Flexibility: Evening availability preferred

Note: Lunch breaks of 30 minutes required for shifts over 6 hours (non-paid)
