Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Writing & Content Development:

  • Draft and edit householders mailers e-newsletters and other public communications ensuring alignment with the MPs voice and priorities.

Social Media Management:

  • Create schedule and monitor engaging social media content (posts videos stories etc.) across all platforms. Monitor analytics and engagement metrics to enhance outreach strategies.

Event Support & Documentation:

  • Accompany the Member of Parliament to community events taking high-quality photos and videos for social media and archival purposes. Provide event summaries when needed.

Outreach & Engagement:

  • Assist in organizing public events town halls and meetings. Support efforts to build relationships with community stakeholders and amplify local concerns in Parliament.

Issue and Event Monitoring:

  • Track local news and events in the riding to identify opportunities for the MP to engage advocate or comment publicly.

Scheduling:

  • Responsible for maintaining MPs community schedule including community events and meetings.

Qualifications :

 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g. Facebook Instagram X/Twitter etc.);
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required for events;
  • Comfort with travel within the riding and occasional long hours on event days;
  • Experience with photography and video production/editing is an asset;
  • Understanding of the role of a Member of Parliament and parliamentary procedure is an asset;
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset;


Additional Information :

Occasional travel and work outside of regular hours may be required.
