You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Windows Server SME L3 Engineer is a senior-level technical expert responsible for the design implementation administration and support of the organizations Windows Server infrastructure both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep knowledge of Windows Server technologies extensive troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of cloud computing concepts specifically within the Azure ecosystem. The Engineer will provide technical leadership mentor junior staff and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the stability security and optimal performance of critical systems.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Windows Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment ensuring server stability security and scalability across on-premises and cloud environments
Key Responsibilities:
Windows Server Infrastructure Management:
Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems Active Directory and related technologies including DNS DHCP HA DFS Windows Failover Cluster and WSUS.
Install configure and maintain Windows servers (including updates patches and service packs)
Manage Active Directory including creating and managing accounts permissions and group policies.
Designing and implementing Azure and Windows infrastructure solutions that align with business requirements and best practices.
Familiarity with cloud migration strategies and tools.
Decent understanding of Azure cloud platform including IaaS (Compute Networking Storage Security Management) PaaS and SaaS offerings.
Azure Cloud Exposure:
Design deploy and manage Windows Server workloads in Microsoft Azure including virtual machines storage and networking.
Implement and configure Azure services such as Azure Active Directory Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
Optimize Azure infrastructure for performance scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Troubleshoot connectivity performance and security issues in Azure environments.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Azure DevOps Git CI/CD pipelines)
Security Administration:
Experience with Azure Update Manager WSUS
Experience on Cisco Duo
Apply security patches and updates to Windows servers and applications.
Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect Azure and Windows infrastructure.
Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).
Technical Leadership and Mentoring:
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Windows Server technologies and Azure-related issues.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Windows Server administrators and support staff.
Lead technical projects including planning and delivery.
Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other IT teams including networking storage security and database administration to ensure seamless integration of systems.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders including management end-users and vendors regarding system status project updates and technical issues.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Core Windows L3 Skills:
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Windows Server administration with a focus on enterprise-level environments.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure managing Windows Server workloads.
Deep understanding of Windows Server operating systems (Windows Server.
Extensive knowledge of Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy and other core Windows Server services.
Professional Attributes
Extensive experience in managing service delivery within cloud and infrastructure environments with Windows
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze service performance data identify improvement opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels ensuring clear and concise communication.
Documentation Proficiency: Ability to develop clear concise and impactful documentation for SLAs service reports and operational procedures.
Work Environment:
The candidate should demonstrate flexibility in accommodating work hours according to client time-zone requirements.
This position operates within standard 9-to-5 working hours adjusted to the clients time zone. However these hours are subject to modification based on evolving project needs.

Educational Background and Certifications:
Bachelor s degree in computer science Information Systems or a related field.
Must have following certifications:
o ITIL Foundation (Mandatory)
o Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification in Windows Server is highly preferred.
o Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification is a plus.
