Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of an EHC Coordinator on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 16.29 - 22.27 per hour

Summary:

The EHC Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating statutory Education Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) and maintaining Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) aged 016. This role is central to ensuring that statutory duties under the Children & Families Act 2014 and associated regulations are met and that the needs of young people and families are responded to in a timely person-centred and legally compliant manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with EHCPs and coordinate EHCNA processes within statutory timelines.
  • Work in co-production with children young people (CYP) and their families to ensure their voices are at the heart of all planning and documentation.
  • Draft high-quality EHCPs ensuring SMART outcomes and accurate reflection of needs and aspirations.
  • Chair and facilitate multi-agency meetings including annual reviews placement at risk meetings and transition planning.
  • Monitor and review existing EHCPs to ensure that appropriate support is in place and effective.

Requirements:

  • Level 5 qualification or higher in a related Childrens Services Education Social Care or Health field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of:Children & Families Act 2014 SEND Regulations 2014 SEND Code of Practice 2015 Care Act 2014 Equality Act 2010 Education Act 1996 Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Awareness of key processes such as the Graduated Response and Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.
  • Understanding of person-centred approaches and principles of co-production.
  • Willingness to undertake the SEND Casework Award or equivalent if not already held.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with children and young people with SEND in education health or social care settings.
  • Experience in drafting reviewing and updating EHCPs.
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with parents/carers and managing sensitive or challenging situations.
  • Evidence of ability to prioritise and manage a complex workload under pressure.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
