Responsibilities:
- Focus on workplace safety and compliance of procedures and MSHA regulations
- Develop implement and improve safety policies procedures and programs as needed
- Provide safety training & education
- Conduct risk assessments
- Inspect work environments underground and on the surface
- Investigate accidents
- Accompany MSHA on quarterly inspections or other site visits
- Evaluate and recommend control measures to minimize risk
- Stay informed of MSHA regulations along with other federal state and local H&S regulations
- Schedule annual required physicals and hearing tests
- Assist with weekly and monthly H&S reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized records of training inspections investigations and other required records
- Work with all departments of the business to promote a positive safety culture
- Other reasonable duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task meet deadlines and stay organized
- Ability to use computer for written communication tracking and submitting reports
- Industry experience preferred
- MSHA Trainer Certification preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skill in written and verbal communication (in English)
- Legally authorized to work in the US.
