Job Purpose:
The Sr. Tender Manager Solar Power Plant will lead the tendering department taking full ownership of the tendering process and team. This role is responsible for identifying strategic bidding opportunities developing competitive proposals and guiding cross-functional teams to secure large-scale solar power projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in tender management within the renewable energy sector and demonstrate leadership in managing high-value bids from end to end.
Job Duties:
Tender Strategy & Department Leadership:
- Take full ownership of the tender department driving performance efficiency and strategic direction.
- Lead and mentor a team of tender executives/managers to ensure seamless execution of tender activities.
- Develop annual tender plans aligned with the companys business goals.
Tender Identification & Management:
- Identify and evaluate relevant national and international tender opportunities.
- Oversee the end-to-end tender submission process ensuring legal technical and commercial compliance.
Bid Preparation & Submission:
- Guide the preparation of comprehensive high-quality bid proposals with accurate cost estimations.
- Review and approve all technical and financial bid submissions to ensure competitive positioning.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Coordinate with top management engineering procurement legal and finance teams to obtain all required tender inputs.
- Engage with government authorities clients consultants and industry stakeholders for bid discussions and clarifications.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for each tender and develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international tendering regulations and company standards.
Market & Competitor Intelligence:
- Analyze market trends government policies and competitor activity to fine-tune bid strategies.
- Continuously improve the tendering process based on insights and performance feedback.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain a comprehensive database of tenders submitted won lost and their outcomes.
- Provide timely reports and analysis to senior leadership on tender pipeline and success rates.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of government bidding portals contract structures tendering systems document analyzing abilities etc.
Skills:
- Exceptional strategic planning leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen to evaluate project profitability.
- Advanced MS Office and document control tools; familiarity with tendering/bid software platforms.
- Self-motivated proactive and result-oriented leader.
- Excellent multitasking problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple high-value tenders simultaneously.
Education:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CFA) / MBA (Finance or Operations) / B.E./ in Electrical Mechanical or Renewable Energy.
Experience:
- Minimum 810 years of experience in tendering with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership position.
- Proven track record in leading successful high-value tenders.
