Overview

We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist with EMIS experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing quality administrative and clerical support in a medical office setting. As the first point of contact for patients the Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a positive experience for all who visit the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients upon their arrival ensuring a warm and welcoming experience
  • Schedule and confirm appointments manage patient records and update personal and insurance information
  • Answer phone calls respond to inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely completion of administrative tasks
  • Process billing and insurance claims and assist patients with financial inquiries
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area and assist with general office duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist with EMIS experience or similar role with a strong understanding of medical terminology and administrative procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer programs
  • Strong attention to detail organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • A compassionate and patient-focused approach with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Medical Administration is a plus

Day-to-day

  • Greet patients with a warm smile and ensure their comfort while waiting for appointments
  • Answer phone calls and emails promptly providing accurate information and directing queries to the appropriate personnel
  • Update patient records using EMIS schedule appointments and verify insurance coverage to ensure accurate billing
  • Collaborate with medical staff to prioritize urgent cases and maintain efficient patient flow
  • Maintain a welcoming and orderly reception area ensuring all administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner
