Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: 75

Start Date: Immediately

End Date: March 31 2027 with possible extension

Salary: Level 9 Step 1 ($108595.50 annually)

Reporting to the Director of Niehyat Nidhj the Niehyat Nidhj(NN) Case Manager manages the development and delivery of intensive child youth and family programs and services. The incumbent serves as the lead for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the TH Government and the Department of Family & Child Services (Government of Yukon) secures operational funds through proposal and grant writing and overall ensures a holistic approach is adopted in support of TH families children and youth. The incumbent liaises with other governments and non-governmental agencies and is the Departments representative with respect to consultations advisory committees working groups and negotiations with respect to family child and youth matters. The incumbent oversees front-line operations and staff leads the Department in supporting TH families through a holistic and trauma-informed approach and coordinates and delivers various child youth and family services and programs within Dawson City through collaboration with other agencies.


An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time term or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:

    • A post-secondary degree in social work with a minimum of two years of experience managing Indigenous community-based health social or family programs and services. An equivalent combination of education knowledge skills and experience may be considered.
    • Working knowledge of TH social structures traditions cultural values and of the health social and family issues affecting TH Citizens.
    • Strong knowledge of holistic case management and trauma informed practices.
    • Knowledge of Bill-C92 and the Government of YukonsChild and Family Services Act is an asset.
    • Experience withfinancial management including budgets resource management and proposal/grant writing.
    • Demonstrated experience managing supervising coaching and performance managing staff members.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop implement manageevaluate and report on holistic program and service delivery.
    • Knowledge ofTrondk Hwchin Constitution Final Agreement and Self Government Agreement.

    Assets:

      • Experience in conflict resolution mediation and negotiations an asset.
      • Knowledge of TH culture and traditions and experience implementing First Nation values into social programs and services.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) and ability to moderate video conferencing meetings.
      • Excellent leadership supervisory management and teambuilding skills.
