Coordinator - Student Success Center
Full-time 12-month position
Position Summary
Student Success Center is seeking a dedicated and organized Coordinator toensure that students who require non-traditional educational pathways receive the necessary academic support personal development resources and mentorship to succeed. This position will support the identification placement and progress monitoring of high school students. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with administrators staff families and external agencies to ensure students are appropriately placed in supportive educational environments. This role is critical in managing behavioral intervention systems compliance with special education procedures and fostering positive student outcomes.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree
- NC Principal Licensure
- Strong knowledge of IDEA FAPE and behavioral intervention frameworks.
- Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead meetings manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse teams and community agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Day to Day Operations
- Ensure a safe respectful and academically rigorous environment for students.
- Treats all students in a fair and equitable manner; interacts effectively with students co-workers parents and community.
- Maintains and respects the confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations that interrupt normal daily schedules.
- Supervise observe and evaluate SSC Instructional staff and support personnel.
- Relate to students with mutual respect while carrying out a positive and effective discipline policy.
- Ability to visualize and implement change.
- Demonstrates positive attitude toward job and remains a flexible and innovative team builder.
- Student Identification & Placement
- Oversee and manage the student referral process for behavioral and emotional supports including data collection team meetings and documentation.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and ensure timelines and legal requirements are met for evaluations IEPs and placement decisions.
- Coordinate transitions into and out of specialized programs alternative placements or therapeutic settings.
- Behavioral Supports & Program Coordination
- Monitor the implementation and fidelity of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Serve as a liaison between general education special education counseling and behavior intervention staff.
- Support crisis response and de-escalation planning in coordination with administrative and behavioral teams.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all placement decisions and behavior plans are documented in accordance with IDEA state law and district policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for audits and compliance reviews.
- Participate in professional development and remain current on legislation and best practices.
- Family & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a point of contact for parents/guardians regarding behavioral supports and student placement processes.
- Collaborate with mental health providers school counselors and community agencies to support student well-being.
Additional duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by central office administrators and designated by the superintendent.
