Elementary Special Education Teacher Emotional Support ProgramReporting to School Principal and Assistant Special Education DirectorDanvers Public Schools seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in the Emotional Support Program (Grades K5). This teacher will deliver specially designed instruction and individualized supports to students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in building trusting relationships with young learners supporting social-emotional growth and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each student receives the academic and behavioral support they need to thrive in the school environment.Key Responsibilities:
Serve as case manager and primary point of contact for students enrolled in the Emotional Support Program
Coordinate and monitor the implementation of IEP goals accommodations and behavior supports in collaboration with related service providers
Maintain accurate documentation and use data to monitor student progress in both academic and social-emotional domains
Partner with school leadership to ensure programming is developmentally appropriate and aligned with district guidelines
Deliver individualized instruction targeting IEP goals in areas such as emotional regulation social skills coping strategies and executive functioning
Provide small group and one-on-one support to address behavioral and academic challenges
Adapt general education curriculum to meet the diverse learning and emotional needs of students
Implement and consistently reinforce behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in partnership with school-based behavior teams
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices accommodations and classroom-based interventions
Participate in IEP meetings parent-teacher conferences and student support team discussions
Serve as a resource to staff offering consultation on behavior management strategies and emotional support practices
Establish and maintain open supportive communication with families to strengthen the school-home partnership
Coordinate with outside agencies service providers and support networks to ensure continuity of care
Provide families with guidance and resources related to emotional and behavioral development when appropriate
Work closely with counselors school psychologists social workers and other specialists to provide coordinated support services
Engage in ongoing professional development related to trauma-informed care behavior intervention and emotional disabilities
Contribute to a positive inclusive school culture that promotes student well-being and social-emotional success
