Job Description

The Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) is a vibrant community of scholars and teachers committed to having a diverse faculty and student body. Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator position supports the Marketing and Communications Office at GSSW and is supervised by the Director of Marketing & Communications. This position will work closely with the GSSW enrollment team to execute and monitor all communication activity for the prospective student population. This position is also responsible for implementing our social media strategy to increase brand awareness engage our audiences and support enrollment fundraising and institutional goals.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the liaison between the GSSW marketing and enrollment team.
  • Work closely with admission ambassadors to identify communication gaps and improve the prospective/admitted student user experience.
  • Set up all emails and text messages and build/maintain queries in Slate (email software) for the prospective and admitted student populations for the Master of Social Work and PhD in Social Work programs.
  • Analyze the performance of email and content strategies and suggest/execute optimizations to boost inquiry conversion.
  • Assist with other marketing office needs outside of enrollment dutiessuch as populating content on the GSSW website.
  • Execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with institutional goals.
  • Maintain a content calendar and ensure consistent voice and branding across platforms.
  • Stay informed on trends in higher education and social media.
  • Write engaging on-brand content (text images video stories reels etc.) for platforms including Instagram X (formerly Twitter) Facebook LinkedIn TikTok and YouTube.
  • Work closely with GSSWs online program management company to collaborate on recruitment strategies for our online MSW program.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with email software
  • Experience with marketing data analysis and optimization
  • Experience with website content management systems
  • Experience with lead generation and marketing campaign execution
  • Critical thinker who identifies when a users experience could be improved and identifies/executes a solution
  • Able to work independently on several projects simultaneously
  • Deep understanding of major platforms (Facebook Instagram TikTok X LinkedIn YouTube).
  • Proficiency in social media tools (Hootsuite Sprout Social Later etc.).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • 1 or more years of marketing and communications experience

Working Environment

  • Shared office environment with moderate noise levels and interruptions

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

In accordance with the Universitys flexible work policy this position is eligible to be considered for partial remote work. Further details regarding this plan will be determined with the hiring manager and are dependent on the division and team specific needs.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 7.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $25.00-$29.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
