Key Competencies & Skills Required:
Program Design & Delivery Ability to plan and execute engaging age-appropriate activities that align with academic standards and promote student learning.
Student Engagement Demonstrated ability to build rapport with high school students foster a positive learning environment and implement innovative hands-on learning strategies.
Cultural Competency Experience working with youth from broad and underserved backgrounds.
Data Management Capable of tracking attendance entering grades entering information into database and maintaining records
Team Collaboration Willingness to attend weekly staff meetings share student observations with program staff and contribute to a supportive team culture.
Supervision Ability to monitor students during academic and enrichment activities as needed throughout the program.
Responsibilities:
The following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Design facilitate and assess summer program experiences to support student success
Maintain accurate records of attendance performance behavior and feedback.
Submit weekly updates to the Director.
Participate in mandatory training (June 26) and staff meetings throughout the program.
Supervise students during class and assigned activities as needed.
Connect and mentor students in meaningful ways
Communicate student progress and concerns to the Upward Bound team.
Education & Experience:
Must be enrolled at a 2- year or 4-year institution or obtained a college degree
Strong interpersonal and communication skill
Strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work with high school students from underserved communities
Must pass a criminal background check
Availability for the full program duration (June 2 July 18 MondayThursday)
