The Freight Cost Analyst performs freight cost analysis activities evaluates data to determine appropriate freight cost bracket and implements cost components in support of Capstone and customer freight management initiatives.
What you will do:
Analyzes Gordon Food Service purchasing data and makes independent decisions regarding freight costing.
Ensures accurate system freight costs through collaboration with other Capstone team members Gordon Food Service departments and product suppliers.
Calculates reviews and implements Gordon Food Service cost system freight rates.
Performs freight bracket analysis to determine optimal order size and landed cost.
Researches and analyzes historical data to ensure accurate freight costing.
Engages in comprehensive National Account contractual freight cost analysis.
Develops reports in support of customer freight audits.
Generates reviews and audits departmental financial reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
When you will work:
Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office 1 day from home.
What youll bring to the table:
Bachelor Degree in Business Logistics Accounting or Finance preferred.
One to three years previous financial or supply chain management experience with an understanding of freight rates costing and information technology.
Knowledge of freight costing components including hundredweight (cwt) calculations line haul and accessorial expenses.
Mathematical - arithmetic measures statistics financial simple addition/subtraction etc.
Reasoning - comparing classifying innovating analyzing (trend analysis) coordinating copying etc.
Problem solving - brings a creative approach to solving problems and brings solutions to the table focus on continuous improvement
Communication - reading (standard and technical) writing (business technical copy etc.) speaking (basic conversation).
Human Relations - teamwork interacts well with others develops relationships etc.
Self direction time management avoids distraction repetition prioritization fluctuations in workload ambiguityand accepts responsibility for own actions follows through on commitments and maintains confidentiality.
Approaches others in a tactful manner and enjoys working in a cross-functional team environment.
