POSITION TITLE: Teacher

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold Bachelors degree

REPORTS TO:Principal and/or other Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: New teachers 195 days; returning teachers 190 days with benefits provided according to the Teachers Negotiated Agreement.

We are seeking a passionate Spanish Elective Teacher to introduce Spanish language and culture to our Pre-K through 1st grade students and support their early academic success through targeted interventions.

Position Overview:
The Spanish Elective Teacher will create a joyful age-appropriate Spanish language learning environment for our youngest learners while also collaborating with classroom teachers and intervention staff to assist students who need additional academic support. This is an ideal role for an educator who is creative flexible and passionate about language acquisition and early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging Spanish lessons for Pre-K Kindergarten and 1st grade students.

  • Use music movement storytelling and play-based strategies to support language development.

  • Foster a culturally rich classroom that celebrates Spanish-speaking cultures and traditions.

  • Support individual and small-group academic interventions in early literacy and numeracy.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional coaches to monitor student progress and adjust supports.

  • Maintain clear communication with families celebrating student growth and encouraging language exploration at home.

  • Participate in school-wide professional development family engagement events and staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent Spanish speaker with strong communication skills in English.

  • Experience working with early childhood or early elementary-aged children.

  • Oklahoma teaching certification preferred especially in Early Childhood Elementary Education or World Languages.

  • Passion for bilingual education early literacy and cultural celebration.

  • Strong classroom management and a joyful nurturing presence.
