JOB TITLE:
Information Specialist
JOB PURPOSE:
Conduct research and handle the exchange of complex information for the designated area; organize preserve analyze interpret and disseminate high-quality data related to characteristics activities operations and policies of designated project(s). The MRC Program is designed to provide high quality market research for entrepreneurs interested in starting or growing their business. Information Specialists evaluates and summarizes information into a format that is easy to read informative and actionable. Works in conjunction with SBDC Regional Directors and their clients and other Economic Development staff from several agencies. Provides Social Media and PR support to organization. An Information Specialist (or Market Researcher) works independently as part of a collegial team to provide market research and website and social media analysis to Wyoming businesses and entrepreneurs and in support of client advisors.
The SBDCs mission is to help Wyoming businesses succeed by offering technical assistance advising training and education to Wyomings entrepreneurs. The SBDC serves small businesses across all market segments and in any stage of the business life cycle. Services are available to established entrepreneurs interested in improving or expanding their businesses and to aspiring entrepreneurs interested in starting a business. One-on-one services are confidential and offered at no-cost. The MRC supports this mission by providing competitive intelligence demographic psychographic and spending data industry financial data marketing assistance and website and social media review and improvement reports using a variety of sophisticated tools. The Market Research programs overall focus is to prepare customized market research and analysis reports for a variety of Wyoming businesses.
The Information Specialist position is responsible for the creation of customized market research reports for a wide variety of Wyoming businesses economic development agencies and nonprofits. This position is the lead in maintaining reporting standards for social media and website analysis reports; conducts administrative duties such as reviewing reports logging client data creating content for special projects; helps coordinate the SBDC networks social media efforts; and participates in other duties for the SBDC Network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is grant funded and considered at-will employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and/or an equivalent combination of work and experience.
Experience: 2 years work-related experience in market research digital marketing database research or related fields.
Required licensure certification registration or other requirements: Valid drivers license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with theUniversity Vehicle Use Policy.

WORK LOCATION:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and the successful candidate must be located in Wyoming. While Laramie WY is the preferred location other locations within Wyoming may be considered.
