Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
High School Diploma/GED (foreign equivalent or higher). Certified as a Medical Assistant. Three (3) years of full-time medical office experience. Experience with recording patient/client vital signs and conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Phlebotomy certified. Experience performing spirometry and EKGs.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Stony Brook WTC Health Program offers comprehensive integrative healthcare of 9/11-related illnesses for WTC disaster responders. Integral to our mission of patient-centered care is an enduring support community advocacy for our 9/11 responders and cutting-edge research efforts. The Certified Medical Assistant will maintain a safe secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal successful Medical Assistant will have excellent customer service skills and will treat every patient with care and compassion. This position requires a responsible individual who can commit to being at work on time and who has excellent attendance as well as an individual with patience who can handle assisting Providers in a busy clinic. Must consider opportunities to develop job knowledge and skills by participating in training and educational opportunities as suggested by supervision.

**The incumbent must be willing to work and travel between the Nassau and Commack clinic locations. Occasional Evenings and Saturdays will be required.
