Job Description
Position Summary:
Axiom Staffing is looking for a dependable and detail-focused Press Area Operator to join the manufacturing team of our client in York PA.
This role is responsible for operating and monitoring machinery involved in the pressing and cutting of bricks. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with machine operation and basic computer systems ensuring accurate production and consistent quality.
- Candidates must have a flexible schedules.
- All employees will train for the first 90 days on 1st shift.
- The position involves rotating 8 to 12-hour shifts with mandatory overtime and weekend work as needed.
2nd Shift:3p-11p- Weekday rotation schedule - Weekend schedule could rotate from 7p-7a or 7a-7p
3rd Shift:11p-7a- Weekday rotation schedule - Weekend schedule would be 7p-7a
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor brick pressing and cutting machines according to safety and production standards.
- Adjust machine settings to accommodate different brick sizes shapes and production requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
- Inspect finished products for quality ensuring specifications are consistently met.
- Document production data accurately and report any discrepancies or malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area following all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
- At least 12 years of experience in machine operation or mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills (e.g. navigating machine software interfaces data entry).
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in brick concrete or related material manufacturing.
Familiarity with automated or semi-automated production equipment.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
Working Conditions:
Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise dust and heat.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
