JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for sustaining developing integrating testing analyzing and/or delivering basic to moderate scale advanced technology systems for existing Universal attractions and systems. Provides subject matter expertise on one or more Ride and/or Show and/or Interactive system disciplines that include but not limited to Audio Special Effects Projection Lighting Set/Scenic Props Show Action Equipment Animated Figures Ride Mechanical Systems Ride Control or Show Control Systems.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages interactive technology enhancements updates and implementation over the life of an attraction to reduce attraction downtimes increase maintainability and operational capabilities of the equipment and ensure high levels of guest satisfaction. Ensures clear lines of communication between other Technical Services and Universal Creative disciplines to ensure seamless installation integration and testing implementation.
- Develops and manages modifications to hardware systems as required based on design and field conditions for the life of Universal attractions driving technical improvements.
- Develops and manages software updates and modifications. Codes develops installs and/or tests software systems including mockups and proof-of-concepts.
- Manages vendors as required to ensure seamless updates and implementation of interactive devices on Universal attractions.
- Supports downtime recovery as necessary.
- Stay up to date with the latest in technology and industry trends to introduce new technology concepts and emerging technologies.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in an applicable technical field required or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience.
- Advanced Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles preferred similar experience in related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence Mixed Reality Interactives and Digital Twins.

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to organize and manage a complex series of tasks and vendor(s) to develop and implement show and ride systems.
- Strength in schedule analysis and contract management required.
- Comfortable Influencing decisions of major nature. High degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable decisions or maintain good will.
- Comfortable working in a non-routine environment with frequently changing situations
